Autumn and Winter Harvest Shares

There are two membership options, depending on your pickup location:

Autumn Share (Toronto): 

Nov. 1, 2011 – Dec. 13, 2011 (4 pickups)

Winter Share (Hillsburgh): 

Nov. 10, 2011 – June 9, 2012 (16 pickups)

About Everdale’s Harvest Share Program:

Everdale’s Harvest Share program is based on the Community Shared Agriculture (CSA) model that is becoming popular all around the world.  Here’s how CSA farms generally work: the CSA farm receives a set fee from you prior to the start of the growing season. In return, you receive produce from the farm every week during the harvest season. In southern Ontario, the harvest season is about 20 weeks long (June-October).  However, we are able to provide vegetables to you beyond the end of the growing season by storing them (e.g. carrots, beets) or bringing them in from other growers who have winter growing facilities (e.g. sprouts).

Everdale’s version of the CSA model is called the “Harvest Share Program”. Our Harvest Shareholders receive delicious vegetables grown on our certified organic farm and on other local farms.

 

Pickup Dates, Times, and Locations:

We have two membership options, depending on which pickup location is closest to you:

 

Autumn Share (Toronto):  Nov. 1, 2011 – Dec. 13, 2011 (4 pickups)

• in the Annex neighbourhood in Toronto (187 Brunswick Ave.)
• Tuesdays from 3:30 – 7 pm (pickups are every other week!)

 

Winter Share (Hillsburgh):  Nov. 10, 2011 – June 9, 2012 (16 pickups)

• at the farm in Hillsburgh, Erin township
• Thursdays from 3 – 8 pm or Saturdays from 8:30 – 11:30 am (pickups are every other week!)

We believe that our Harvest Share program can deepen your connection with your food, your farmers, and the land. As a Harvest Shareholder Everdale becomes “your farm”.

There are two registration options:

By email:  Fill out the registration form (above) and email it to harvestshare@everdale.org.  Payments can be made in person at the next pickup (cash or cheque only please).

By phone:  Call us at (519) 855-4859 ext. 170 and let us know your name, address, phone number, email address, pickup location, and the share size and number of weeks (if applicable) that you’d like to sign up for.   Payments can be made in person at the next pickup (cash or cheque only please).
