We are hiring for four 31-week positions. Pay is $423/week; 30 hours per week; flexible schedule.
These positions are funded by an Ontario Job Creation Partnership grant. You must meet the following three criteria in order to be eligible to be interviewed:
- Must be currently in receipt of EI benefits, OR able to establish an EI benefits claim prior to beginning a JCP position, OR have completed an EI claim within the past 36 months, OR began a maternity or parental claim within the past 60 months;
- Be unemployed, or working part-time (less than 20 hours per week);
- In need of the work experience that will be gained through the JCP position they’re interested in, and this experience will improve their prospects for securing full-time work in their field of interest & expertise.
Social Media Video Campaign coordinator will design and implement an exciting digital outreach campaign that will focus on short interactive videos posted on various social media platforms. The “What I Can Do” video campaign will share good news stories about local food solutions that lead to healthier communities. This position will be supported by Everdale’s Executive Director and Everdale’s Social Media lead.
Website/Video Farm Tour developer will design and implement an exciting virtual tour that will be featured on the main page of Everdale’s website. The virtual tour will give online viewers an exciting look at the training programs, events, and farming activities happening at Everdale’s Hillsburgh Community Farm. The virtual tour will feature videos from “What I Can Do” video campaign and the Local Food Trail. The goal will be to share good news stories about local food solutions that lead to healthier communities, and to entice internet viewers to put their “boots on the ground” and come out and take part in Everdale’s programs and activities. This position will be supported by Everdale’s Executive Director and Everdale’s Social Media lead.
Local Food Access gardener will develop an educational and interactive raised-bed gardening system at Everdale Farm. Raised-beds make gardening and local food more accessible for seniors and other people with mobility challenges. This makes them the perfect model for community gardens that seek to engage all members of the community. This JCP position will research and build a series of raised-bed models; and develop community programs and activities that utilize the raised-beds; and, collaborate with the JCP Positions above to create short videos of the above activities for the “What I Can Do” video campaign and virtual tour. This JCP will be supported by Everdale’s Farm Manager.
Local Food Trail animator. This JCP participant will create educational and directional signs and a guide map for a new trail system at Everdale’s Hillsburgh Community Farm called the Local Food Trail. The trail will be an interactive experience that educates people about how locally-grown food supports healthy communities. The trail will be featured in the “What I Can Do” video campaign and in the virtual tour. Internet viewers will be enticed to visit Everdale’s Hillsburgh Community Farm and talk a walk on the real-life Local Food Trail and take a real-life tour. This person will be supported by the Site Manager at Everdale’s Hillsburgh Community Farm.
