With excellent soil, proximity to large markets and plenty of support for new farmers, have you considered The Town of Erin?

 

Concerned about the cost of buying land?

Learn about a variety of innovative farming opportunities that may allow you to begin to farm while avoiding the overwhelming cost of purchasing farmland.  Find out how you can connect with farmland owners.  


Come out on Sunday July 19th to Everdale Farm to find out what Everdale and Erin have to offer you!  Meet and learn from local farmers about what its like to farm in Erin as well as find out what programs and resources are available to support new farmers.

The day will begin at 9:30 at Everdale, with presentations on the local farming environment, realestate, markets and local programs to support new farmers: FarmLINK, LandLINK, Everdale Farm and Farmers Growing Farmers Program. 

The afternoon will be filled with local farm tours, including examples of successful incubator farming models, where land and equipment are leased from a landowner to a new farmer to set up and establish their farm within an existing farm.  Having expert knoweledge close at hand, a place in the local farming community and on-farm access to equipment is of tremendous benefit to new farmers starting out.

This event is free and includes lunch, be sure to register early!
